  7. The TR114 Universal FAX/Voice Boards provide the core FAX and voice
  8. technologies used in FAX servers, FAX store and forward systems, and
  9. integrated FAX-voice mail systems.  The ability of each port of the TR114 to
  10. record and play speech and to transmit and receive Group III facsimile
  11. provides the system developer with a full selection of functionality on one
  12. platform.  Each channel uses an integrated CISC-DSP processor to significantly
  13. reduce the load placed on the host system.  All firmware on the card is
  14. downloaded to ease implementation of new features as they become available.
  15. FAX functionality includes MH, MR, MMR transmission and storage to disk, ECM
  16. transmission, and ASCII to FAX conversion.  PCM and ADPCM encoding are used
  17. for speech record and playback.  DTMF detection and generation are supported
  18. and an advanced call progress algorithm is employed.  Telephone interfaces for
  19. loop start and DID lines are available as are interfaces to MVIP and PEB buses
  20. for operation with third party interfaces to digital services.  A flexible and
  21. powerful API and driver for use with DOS, SCO UNIX, SCO XENIX, QNX, Windows
  22. NT, UnixWare and OS/2 further ease system development.  MVIP is a trademark of
